One of the most misunderstood—and critical—parts of sprinting is the start. And it all begins with the basics: is your athlete in the right start position for them?
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. While a standard "step-off" technique may work for some, it’s not ideal for everyone. The most effective start position depends on several factors—physical dimensions, strength levels, power-to-weight ratio, and even age.
Athletes who are shorter or taller than average often need customized adjustments, and what works for a seasoned sprinter may not be right for someone still developing.
Our goal is to identify the optimal start position for your athlete, based on their unique build and where they are in their track and field journey.
We’ll start by analyzing their physical profile and mechanics, then develop a start technique that sets them up for success from the very first step.Looking forward to helping your athlete unlock their full potential on the track!
